Jowett and I were very close friends in school.  We played a lot of sandlot baseball.  One sommer we played everyday behind the old Skelly filling station just south of the old Meadowlake shopping center.  I treasure those times we had together.  After his service to our country, we would visit on the phone or in person and talk about future business that we could do together.  He was like the brother I never had.  I miss him and wish we could play softball together in a league here in Kansas City.  He would have loved it and would too.

I have wondered often about Jowett and so sad to hear of his passing. We had study hall together and played cards. He walked me home many times after school and I consider him one of the nicest and caring people I met during high school.
